Jennifer Neal
Short Bio
Jennifer Neal is an author, and freelance producer and translator based in Berlin. Her debut novel, Notes on Her Color, was published by Catapult (New York) and Penguin Random House Australia (Sydney) in May 2023. Her nonfiction debut, My Pisces Heart: A Black Immigrant’s Search for Home Across Four Continents, was published in October 2024 by Catapult. Her books has been praised by Harper’s Bazaar, Shondaland, the Chicago Review of Books, Kirkus Reviews, Bookpage, and Booklist. Her writing has also appeared in The Cut, Gay Magazine, The Willowherb Review, and many other publications. Both her fiction and nonfiction are rooted firmly in interests that center on speculative fiction, multidirectional memory as it relates to transcontinental colonialism, mass migratory movements, and archival storytelling.
